Count your Blessings

These last few weeks have been very busy but God has blessed me in so many ways. I am so excited about how He is showing himself strong in my life. The bible says in Matthew,” Ask and it shall be given”. I am a witness that if I ask God for something, He will give it to me. I don’t know what I’ve been doing lately, but God has been spoiling me and I want to share a few of the ways He’s been blessing me.

  1. I asked the President, of my university to attend an appreciation reception with me to show my appreciation. He accepted and joined me along with my supervisor Cash and advisor Dr. Wood. I had an awesome conversation with him and got to share what I did over spring break and what I am doing this summer. This is by far my favorite college experience so far :)!

  2.  I went home to St.Louis for about a day and a half during our Easter break and I got the opportunity to travel with my favorite group God’s Chosen. It was a blessing to be able to serve them and work their merchandise table so that they can focus on ministering. We had a great time and the hospitality was awesome.

3). Lastly, I applied to be an Emcee for Cru ( the campus ministry I am a part of ) and I prayed that God would just let His will be done. I got a phone call right before I left to go home for Easter break asking if I would like to accept the position as Emcee. I was so happy because I knew it must have been God’s will for me to be Emcee.

God has been blowing my mind more and more everyday. I am so excited to see what this summer has to offer. I would love for you to be praying for me as I prepare for my trip to San Diego.I would also love for you to prayerfully consider donating so that I can actually go. GC3 —–> God’s Chosen 3

Image

My favorite picture of me and God’s Chosen

God’s Chosen (GC3) is my favorite gospel group of all time. I just thought I’d take time this week to share about why I love them so much! God’s Chosen is a singing trio from St.Louis by the names of Zebrina Anderson, Nikeisha Whittier and Sarah Stephens who travel the country singing.  Before I go any further, go purchase their album “1&6” on ITunes, amazon.com, and gc3music.com RIGHT NOW! The album is absolutely amazing.

a super old picture of me and God’s Chosen

I met God’s Chosen when I was around 13 and have been a diehard supporter ever since. God’s Chosen stood out from the entire STL artist because I noticed that they supported others and were sincerely focused on ministry and not entertainment. God’s Chosen released their first album, “Love Ever After”, nationally in 2007 and I remember like it was yesterday being at their celebration at Vintage Vinyl. God’s Chosen recently released their sophomore album,”1&6” and I was soooo happy that I would not talk about anything else but the release of “1&6”.There are a ton of things I admire about God’s Chosen but I decided to point out these top 10!  Enjoy!

 WHY I LOVE GOD’S CHOSEN:

  1. They love God. It is very obvious that GC3 loves God and more importantly serves him in every aspect of their lives.
  2. They focus their ministry on saving the lost. At their first CD release concert, I believe two people accepted Christ and were baptized that night.
  3. They support other ministries. God’s Chosen support other STL artist and have supported me since I’ve known them.
  4. They keep it real. If anyone knows any member of God’s Chosen they will tell you like it is. Lol
  5. They are talented. God’s Chosen is very talented and I’ve successfully learned how to fail at each of their runs.
  6. They are committed to being used by God. Brina, Sarah, and Keisha are committed to singing and play vital roles in their local church.
  7. They are humble. God’s Chosen never accepts any glory, but they ALWAYS give glory to God.
  8. They are faithful. So many people would have gave up singing after living in different states, but God’s Chosen kept the faith and stayed together.
  9. They are grateful. After all these years, God’s Chosen thanks me for each and every event that I come support them at.
  10. They are wise, they know the Word of God and they will tell you things in a loving way. Brina, Sarah and Keisha are very wise women who have taught me how to be a godly woman.  I have no problem asking them or sharing things with them because I know they will get me together in a loving way.

Later that night, I went to dinner with my mom, dad, God sister, Desi and Tammy.  I was so excited to see my God sister Makayla, but all she wanted to do was play games on my phone. After dinner, I hung out with my little cousin Miya. This was my first time hanging out with her and I was very excited to get to know her. She is very smart and has set goals just like me. She reminded me so much of myself and it made me even more excited to keep in touch and hang out with her.

Me and Keisha

Sunday morning, I woke up on a mission. I needed to wash my hair, get my eye brows waxed and make it to Keisha’s church at a decent time.  I struggled getting out of the bed, but I eventually got up, washed my hair, picked out my outfit, and headed to the nail shop to get my eye brows done.  I made it to Keisha’s church at about noon.  I really enjoyed myself at Keisha’s church (like always). After church, I purchased 2 God’s Chosen Walk the Talk t-shirts. I was so excited to have the newest edition in my hands.  It was also fun to catch up a little bit with Keisha and have a mini photo shoot (#loveher). After I left Keisha’s church, I went to my aunt’s church to visit and say my last goodbyes. Overall, it was a very fun weekend and I was not ready to come back to Springfield. I am definitely looking forward to going home again.

Summer in San Diego

Image Since attending the Big Break conference during spring break, my passion for the lost has grown tremendously. I have taken many steps of faith by sharing the gospel with people who I really care about. I really want to see the people I care about in heaven praising God right next to me. I am so grateful that God has instilled in me the boldness to talk to people about how good He really is. During the conference, I received a phone call that informed me that my life would be forever changed this summer. During that phone call, I found out I will be spending 10 weeks in San Diego, CA this summer! Yes, 10 weeks! I have never been to Cali and took a major step of faith and applied to go to Cali for a mission trip. I am so excited about what God is going to do through me. During this mission trip, I will partner with local churches, launch spiritual movements on college campuses and do various outreaches in the community. There will be around 100 students who will join me with a mutual goal to bring Jesus to San Diego. When I got the call that I was accepted to go on this summer project, so many thoughts came to mind. All I could think about was how God could use little ole me in bringing people to know him personally.  This journey will be so fun and I am excited that all my family and friends get to join me. ImageI  would love for all my family/friends to support my by praying for me ( EVERYDAY)! This is a huge step of faith because 1) I will be living in a  state that I have never even visited( for 10 weeks), 2) I will be sharing the gospel literally EVERYDAY and 3) I will have to raise support so that this trip can be possible. Another way all my family/friends can support me is financially. If you go to this website (http://give.gosummerproject.com/tina-osborne/) , you can donate online. However, if you are old school and want to send a check leave a comment with your email address and I will send my address. All funds will allocate toward my mission trip! I can’t wait to see how God moves! “But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”- Philippians 4:19

Big Break 14

Image

1st Day on the Beach

Welcome to my Blog! I will post weekly about what God is doing in my life! As I reflect on how God worked in my life during my spring break, I am reminded of the verse Philippians 1:6. I knew at a very young age that I was called to serve the Lord and share the gospel. God is just getting started with how He is going to use me to bring people to Him. If you would have asked me what I was doing for spring break in January I would have responded with, “Probably just going home”. I never thought I would spend a week in Florida sharing the gospel. This spring break was the best spring break that I have EVER had in my entire life. Here’s a recap!

Image

Me, Megan and Tab

After a 16/17 hour car drive we finally arrived to Panama City Beach on Saturday around 5 pm. Since I signed up for the conference so late, myself along with my roommate Megan was roomed with students from Virginia Tech and a staff member from Jersey. This seemed very scary at first, but we instantly clicked with our roommate Tabitha.

Every morning of the conference, I received practical teaching from Roger Hershey and Keri Armentrout on how to effectively share my faith without being awkward. The first day we learned the importance of listening. Doing evangelism on the first day was very challenging because I was nervous and because there were so many people at the beach who looked intimidating. During the morning session on the second day, I learned that as a sower I should be sowing seeds and spreading the gospel everywhere that I go.  Doing evangelism  the second day, I ran into 4 intoxicated guys who thought I was Nicki Minaj ( so funny). I was still able to share the gospel and as a result I learned that they were Muslims. It was so interesting to see them express their beliefs in the midst of their drunkenness. The morning session on the third day taught me that if I live boldly and confidently with Christ, some people will not approve. I have learned that this is true. The third day on the beach was by far the best. I had two 45 minute conversations with a group of girls and guys. These conversations were very interesting because these guys and girls were really receptive and interested in hearing the gospel. The most updated results said that 5,414 people heard the gospel, and 165 people prayed to receive Christ last week.

Image The theme of the conference was reclaimed and restored. When I look at my life and how it has transformed(especially in the last three weeks), God has definitely reclaimed and restored me. This conference was an eye-opening experience and it was amazing to see how God used me and the other students from Missouri State. My favorite part of the conference was during the morning session on the fourth day. I learned how to use social media as a ministry tool and how to share the gospel online.

Not only did I have an awesome spring break, I got to spend it with great people. I met so many new people and built awesome friendships(probably life-long) with other Missouri State students. I am so grateful that God chose to send me to Panama City Beach to spread the gospel. I am convinced that obedience=blessings. This experience was absolutely amazing and I would encourage any student to attend this conference. Here are a few pictures! Enjoy!

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes.– Romans 1:16

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.– Galatians 1:10
